- This tour will start when we pick you up from the facilities of the hotel where you are staying.

- After a 2-hour journey we will arrive at the Lagunas de Mejia National Sanctuary, located on the South Pacific Coast of Peru, a few meters from the line of Pacific Ocean tide, at a maximum height of 3.40 meters above sea level and a minimum height of 0.50 meters above sea level. Despite its scarce 690.6 ha of extension, it manages to cover different types of habitats: lagoon mirrors, swamps, saline mudflats, cattails, mountain and riverside estuary, grasslands and vast sandy beaches; becoming one of the most important on the western coast of South America.

- The area of the Sanctuary is made up of flooded plains and flat terrain with topographical depressions very close to the sea. 195 species of birds can be observed in the Sanctuary, of which 75 species are residents that nest in the Sanctuary or its surroundings and can be found all year round in the various environments. In addition, there are 6 species of resident birds in the sea in front of the Sanctuary, 80 species of migratory birds (48 of which come from North America or the Arctic, 18 from southern South America, 3 from the northern coast of Peru or northern South America and 10 from the Andean zone and part of the jungle). Finally, there is a group of 30 species considered as birds of occasional presence. There are 28 species with some degree of threat, among which we find 4 in danger of extinction.

- After lunch we will return to the city of Arequipa along the road that leads us through Cocachacra.
