DETAILED ITINERARY
07:30am a 08:00am – Pick up from hotels in the center of Arequipa.
08:30am - We begin our journey to one of the deepest and most beautiful canyons in the world. Our point of operations will be the town of Chivay, which we will arrive in approximately 04 hours, counting all the tourist stops. As a first point we will pass through the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca, where we will be able to appreciate the vicuñas that inhabit this area, after that very close we will visit Patahuasi to drink the traditional coca tea, a traditional drink essential for altitude sickness (mountain sickness). Then we will also make a small stop in the Toccra wetlands where we will observe a large number of Alpacas grazing freely in the area. An obligatory stop at the Viewpoint of the Volcanoes, the highest point on the road that reaches 4800 m.sn.m, from where we will appreciate much of the western mountain range, from this point it would only take 40 minutes to reach the town of Chivay.
12:30pm - We will arrive to Chivay to enjoy a delicious lunch (payment on behalf of the client). After lunch we will settle in our respective hotels. During the afternoon we will be able to enjoy a relaxing bath in the Hot Springs (Optional entrance paid by the client) whose thermo-medicinal waters range between 35º C to 38º C of temperature in the pools.
For dinner (payment on behalf of the client) we can enjoy a folkloric show with typical dances of the area. Overnight in Chivay.
DÍA 02:
Breakfast. After breakfast we will move to the Viewpoint of the Cruz del Condor, which is 01 hour away, it is the observation point of the Colca Canyon and the spectacular flight of the Condor. At this point we will spend an average of 45 minutes to observe the beauty of the Colca canyon.
On our return we will stop at the viewpoints of the area from where we will observe the impressive terraces of the Valley and in the town of Maca, where we will see its church and optional taste of local drinks such as Colca Sour, made with products from the zone.
12:00pm - Lunch in Chivay. (payment on behalf of the client)
01:00pm - We will return fully to the city of Arequipa. If on the first day of our tour we did not know a point on the way to Chivay, on the return we can make a stop to meet all the tourist stops, this depending on the weather and the group.
05:00pm – We will arrive in the city of Arequipa, and we will leave you near the Main Square.

The Colca Valley is located 151km from the city of Arequipa; In a trip of approximately 03 hours you will reach the main town, Chivay, where you will be able to find all the main services such as accommodation, restaurants, nightlife centers, and more.
You can visit the Colca all year round, however the best time to visit is between April and May, since the rainy season is ending and these are the months that show the greatest greenery of the Colca Valley's terraces and all its landscapes.
The main town of the Colca Valley is located at an altitude of 3,635 meters above sea level, however on the way from Arequipa to Chivay you pass a high point, Patapampa, also known as the Mirador de los Volcanes; This is located at 4900 meters above sea level, it is the highest point of the entire route.
It is always recommended to take only what is necessary to spend the night on this tour, so you can leave your luggage at the hotel in Arequipa with the corresponding check-in and you can pick it up on the second day when you return.
If you are not staying in a hotel in the historic center, you must go to the Plaza de Armas to board the transport. First, we pick up passengers who are in the Plaza de Armas and then we start the pick-ups at Hotels.
You can do pickups from Airbnb that are in the historic center; the transport usually picks them up one or two blocks from their location depending on access and prior coordination.
The tour can be done with seniors and children after acclimatization in the city of Arequipa, it is advisable to stay at least 01 day in the city to avoid altitude sickness when doing the tour.

As you eat dinner, you will be able to appreciate some typical dances of the area prepared by the inhabitants and thus you can learn a little more about their customs.
Normally this is coordinated with the guide the night before, however what is usually done after the early breakfast at the hotel is to gather the group at a certain time in the Plaza de Armas of Chivay to board the transport and continue the tour to the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor.
