CITY TOUR POR AREQUIPA, CAÑON DEL COLCA, CATARATA DE PILLONES, LAGUNA DE SALINAS Y RUTA DEL SILLAR

DETAILED ITINERARY:

DÍA 01: TRANSFER IN – TOUR CAMPIÑA EN BUS PANORÁMICO

At an appropriate time, transfer from the Airport to your respective Hotel.

02:00pm – Our meeting point will be the Plaza de Armas and then we will go to the tourist bus stop located on Calle Zela block 03, we will enjoy the entire tour on the second floor of the bus to have a better view of all the tourist attractions of the city of Arequipa, making stops at the following points:

Our first point will be the Yanahuara District where we can take photos in the famous Portals of Yanahuara with the Misti volcano in the background, too. We will be able to appreciate the Church of this traditional district.

Then we go to the second point which will be the Mirador de Carmen Alto, there you can see the terraces of the district and our three representative volcanoes that we have in Arequipa; the Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu.

Next we move to the third point which will be the Minizoológico de Incalpaca, where we can appreciate the four South American camelids (Llama, Alpaca, Vicuña and Guanaco).

Our fourth point is the Goyeneche Palace, a colonial mansion with a lot of history.

Later, our fifth point is the Founder's Mansion; a colonial mansion, now converted into a museum, that houses important relics from the history of the city of Arequipa. Admission is optional but recommended given the rich history it houses.

Finally, we will visit the sixth point which will be the Sabandia Mill inside which the water mill is operating. Admission is optional, if you want to stay outside you can find optional activities such as Horseback Riding, ATV ride and Zipline. Finishing the tour we will leave you near the Plaza de Armas.

DÍA 02: CAÑÓN DEL COLCA

08:00am to 08:30am – Pick up from hotels in the center of Arequipa.

08:30am - We begin our trip to one of the deepest and most beautiful canyons in the world. Our trip lasts approximately 4 hours to reach the main town of Chivay, making tourist stops along the way. We will pass through the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where we can see the vicuñas, the main camelid that lives in the area, after which we will visit Patahuasi to take a the traditional Coca Mate, a traditional drink essential for altitude sickness (soroche). Later we will make a small stop at the Bofedales de Toccra where we will observe a large number of Alpacas grazing freely in the area. A mandatory stop at the Mirador de los Volcanes, the highest point of the road that reaches 4800 meters above sea level, from where we will appreciate a large part of the western mountain range, from this point we begin the descent towards the town of Chivay arriving in approximately 40 minutes.

Lunch in Chivay. Then we will settle in our respective hotels. During the afternoon we can enjoy a relaxing bath in the Thermal Waters whose thermo-medicinal waters range between 35º C to 40º C in temperature in the pools.

At night it is optional to participate in a dinner show. Overnight.

DÍA 03: MIRADOR DE LA CRUZ DEL CONDOR

After breakfast we will move to the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor, which is 30 minutes away, an observation point of the Colca Canyon and, if possible, appreciate the spectacular flight of the Condor. . At this point we will spend an average of 45 minutes to be able to observe the beauty of the valley.

On the way back we will stop at the viewpoints in the area from where we will observe the impressive Andenería del Valle and in the town of Maca, where we will see its church and optionally taste local drinks such as Colca Sour, made from local products. Lunch.

01:00pm – We begin our return journey towards the city of Arequipa. If on the first day of our tour we did not know any point on the way to Chivay, on the return we can make a stop to be able to meet all the tourist stops, depending on the weather and the group.

04:30pm – We will arrive at the city of Arequipa, and we will leave you near the Plaza de Armas.

DÍA 04: CATARATA DE PILLONES

06:15am to 06:45am – Between that period of time we pick up from hotels that are located in the center of the city and then begin our tour. Our first stop will be in the Pueblo de Pampa de Arrieros where it was formerly the entrance to the white city for people who arrived on board the train. Then we will pass through the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve; home of vicuñas, which live freely in the area.

Then we headed towards Patahuasi to have the traditional Coca Mate, a must to avoid altitude sickness.

In approximately one hour we will be arriving at the Pillones Waterfall, a magnificent place to connect with nature. We will begin the descent to reach the waterfall in approximately 20 minutes; Upon arriving at the place we will observe the incredible waterfalls of this impressive waterfall; At the place you will have time to take photos and enjoy this incredible landscape that surrounds it. We can also observe molded rocks produced by water erosion.

After visiting the beautiful waterfall we go to the Imata Stone Forest, where we will begin the walk for approximately 40 minutes; There we can appreciate the Stone Forest, a natural place with strange rock formations and stone columns that cause a unique sensation, Lunch. Finally, after having enjoyed this wonderful landscape, we will begin our way back to the city.

04:30pm – We will arrive at the city of Arequipa, and we will leave you near the Plaza de Armas.

DÍA 05: LAGUNA DE SALINAS FULL DAY

06:15am to 06:45am – We begin the pick-up from the hotels in the city center.

06:45am – We begin our journey to the Salinas Lagoon making different stops.

Our first visit will be at the Mirador de los Volcanes in the Chiguata district; which we will arrive in an average of 45 minutes; From there we can observe our representative volcanoes and take photos.

Later we will be arriving at the Main Square of Chiguata where its traditional Espiritu Santo Church is located and we will enjoy a traditional breakfast from the area.

Then we will continue our journey and in a journey of approximately 1 hour we will make a stop at the Alto Simbral (4200 meters above sea level) where we will be able to observe plants in the area such as the Queñua, Yareta, Tola , etc.

Continuing our journey we will arrive at the Salinas Lagoon where we will stay between 01 hour to 01 hour and 30 minutes making different stops to observe flamingos, parihuanas, and water bodies (from January to March). , sightings of vicuñas, llamas and alpacas (all year round).

In the dry season (April to December) we will visit the salt extraction centers where imagination is essential to take spectacular photographs. Then we will head towards the Hot Springs and mini volcano of Lojen to enjoy a relaxing bath. Finally we will return to Chiguata for lunch and then we will begin our way back to the city of Arequipa.

04:30pm - Arrival in the city and we will leave you near the Plaza de Armas.

DÍA 06: RUTA DEL SILLAR - TRANSFER OUT

08:30am – 09:00am – In this period of time we pick up from the hotels located in the center of Arequipa.

We begin our journey towards the Sillar Route, which is a tourist route with a lot of history and living culture, where we visit quarries and areas where the ashlar originated. The first point we will stop at will be the Añashuayco Quarry; which we will arrive in approximately 45 minutes. It is currently in operation, the stonemasons carry out their work very early; In the place we can see an immense canyon with cliffs (ignimbrite walls) that are several meters high, formed by the extraction for the formation of the Ashlars. At this point we will tell you the history of ashlar, its production and the use that has always been given to it. In this quarry you can see a Megacarving of the Church of the Company of Jesus made by the stonemasons themselves. We can also visit one of them so that they can explain to us what their daily work is like and they can make us experiment by cutting one of their stone blocks ourselves.

Next we will move to the Quebrada de Culebrillas, which is 30 minutes away from Añashuayco. Arriving at this point we will take a walk of approximately 20 minutes into the small canyon that was formed by the passage of water, which has walls of 15 to 20 meters. As we enter it, the walls of the canyon increase in height. At the end of the walk we will be able to see petroglyphs with descendants of the Wari culture more than a thousand years ago. Before returning to the city we will observe the Apachetas, which are stone formations placed one on top of the other that are a symbol of gratitude towards nature and also an attraction of good luck which cause a mystical sensation.

11:30am - We will begin the return journey to the city of Arequipa.

12:30pm – We will arrive at the center of Arequipa and we will leave you very close to the Plaza de Armas.

At the indicated time, transfer from your Hotel to the Airport. End of our services.
